Indian railway removes picture of Pakistani train from app

Railway police in Gujarat, India, removed the image of a Pakistani train from a recently launched application for passenger safety, after social media said it presented a Pakistani train, NDTV reported Monday.

According to the Indian media, officials removed the photograph after Indian social media users pointed out that the green rail engine, which appeared on the "Surakshit Safar" board, was from a Pakistani train.

Authorities said they have now deleted the image.

"To make the application more attractive, the developer of the application had put some pictures of trains. In the process, without realizing it, he used a photograph of a Pakistani train. Upon learning about it, we asked the developer to remove. It was an accident. Error, "said Deputy Inspector General of Police, CID-Crime and Railways, Gautam Parmar, on Sunday.

The application was launched by Gujarat State Minister for the Home, Pradeepsinh Jadeja, on February 29.

With the help of this application, train passengers can seek the help of the Gujrat Railroad Police in case of any emergency.
