Government to help people earning less than Rs25,000 in buying food rations

ISLAMABAD: The federal government decided to help people who earn less than Rs25,000 a month to buy food rations, Geo News reported Monday.
The decision was made by the cabinet during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan. The prime minister was informed about the actions of several departments during the meeting.
He told the government to allocate an amount exclusively to help people buy food rations in the next budget.
The proposal lacked details on how the government will help people buy food rations. During the meeting, according to reports, the prime minister said the government in office will support those struggling to make ends meet.
He said the installation of Panah Gahs and soup kitchens was evidence of the government's determination to help the poor and the destitute. Prime Minister Imran thanked the private sector and the people who had partnered with the government to help the poor.
On Twitter, the prime minister praised cabinet decisions and attributed the reduction in inflation in February compared to January.

It is good to see that the cabinet's decisions to reduce inflation, including the subsidy on products through public service stores, begin to bear fruit. The inflation rate for February shows a decrease of more than 2% compared to January. We will continue to apply measures to reduce inflation and reduce the burden on citizens.
